Speeding?

James was excited to get out on the bike yesterday.  The weather was gorgeous, and he was riding well.   When he arrived home, he told me a story:
As he drove into our town, he noticed a state trooper parked, watching the people drive by.  As he passed him, the trooper turned on his lights.  James pulled over and the trooper said “I clocked you going 24 in a 20 miles per hour zone!”
Now, all I could think while he was telling me this story was “Oh great!  He got a ticket, ON HIS BIKE!”  Turns out he didn’t get a ticket.  The trooper just thought it was interesting that he was going that fast!  Go James!

After checking out of the Royal Kona Resort, we had some time to kill before catching the “redeye” back to the mainland.  So, we visited a couple of our favorite places one last time.

After a whirlwind week of Ironman fun…Aaron’s dip-n-dash, watching the underwear run, visiting the expo, shopping for Ironman souvenirs, watching James race, and meeting our favorite pros (Yes, Macca!  I am talking about you!) and a week of new adventures…swimming with sea turtles, waking up to the sound of ocean waves crashing, climbing volcanoes, and of course eating at Bongo Ben’s, it was finally time to leave the Big Island of Hawaii.  We were extremely sad to go.  I have a feeling we will be back though!

James snorkeling on our last day in Hawaii.  I took this picture from the balcony of our hotel room!

Aaron, Cub and King Kamehameha!

Back to Hawaii!

My life seems to have gone crazy over the past couple of months, and I have just neglected the blog!  I have been wanted to do wrap up of the Ironman World Championship for a while now. I know it was 7 months ago, and for most people it is a distant memory, but it changed our lives in so many ways that I just feel the need to finish the trip up on the blog.  Besides, it is my blog and I can do what I want on it.  J
So, please bear with me as we revisit the not so distant past and finish up the trip to Kona!
Aaron and his faithful sidekick, “Cub”, enjoyed playing around at Island Lava Java!
On our last morning in Hawaii, we ate breakfast at “Island Lava Java”.   Often referred to as “the place to see and been seen” during race week (a favorite eating place of the pros), the crowds had diminished significantly by the time we managed to get there!  But, if you have to spend $10 for pancakes, this is the place to do it at.  The food was amazing!  We left there happy and full!

Yes, I realize those are not pancakes on James’s plate, but I cannot remember what it was he had!  I do remember he enjoyed it, though!

Okay, so this has absolutely nothing to do with Ironman or triathlon.  However, I thought it was hilarious and it is kind of about “running”.  For instance, Aaron just has to be faster than one person, right?  Tee hee hee!
